In Year 1, we have started to look at different ways we can partition two-digit numbers. We have used counters, base 10 blocks, drawings and our reasoning skills to develop our understanding of this tricky concept.
Year 1 have recently been on a trip to Abbey House museum for our topic on Victorians. We were able to look at old artefacts, dress up and make our own Punch and Judy. We had a fantastic time on our trip!
In Year 1, we have been planning our own weather forecast to present on our West End weather channel.
This half term, Year 1 have been helping Toys R Us design an umbrella for all of the stormy weather. We had to test a range of materials to see which would work best in the rain.
This term, Year 1 have been visiting The Beach Shop with Peter Rabbit. We were able to work out how the shopkeeper would give us change from a 20p and 10p with the least amount of coins.
This term, the Year 6 top team have been reading with us every week. They help us with segmenting and blending our words. We really enjoy reading with you – thank you for your help!
Year 1 have recently been to Manchester Museum for a dinosaur challenge. We practised being paleontologists by examining different fossils and deciding whether they are from an animal or a dinosaur. We had a fantastic day!
This half term, Year 1 have been practising printing with Mrs Gittins with fruit and vegetables. We have really enjoyed it!
